goosh - Google shell command line

June 3, 2008

Google ShellReal programmers use the command line.

Now Google has a command line interface in beta.

If you are comfortable on the command line, then this is for you.

You can do normal Google search, search for images, videos, read rss feeds, even do language translations,

all without touching that mouse.

Most useful for me is up-arrow history, in the current session.

Hopefully in futures betas, they can get that history persisted between sessions - better than bookmarks.

Even better, because I log into iGoogle, they should be able to save my command history so I can use it anywhere.

I see this interface as a powerful metaphor for power users searching the web.
